bogus tracking number sent by PolkAudio.Com

a few days ago I entrusted PolkAudio.Com with a $1600 order and the shipment tracking number that was sent was a link that did a general search on Google.Com for that tracking number. This is unacceptable and does denote possible fraud as defined by the agreement I have with the credit card company I used to place the order.

It's possible that it was just a malformed link or a problem with the way the URL was created.
I would try manually taking the tracking number to the shipping company's website and tracking it there. Also, google has a nice feature where if you paste in any tracking number as a search, it'll detect what carrier it uses and forward you along to the tracking results. -
It probably is just an innocent mistake but do tell which shipping company I should try first, second or third and I'll respond that those didn't work. Do try it yourself.

I think that's the Hermitism Express. Anything shipped will arrive with a scratch on the top at the last minute, but it doesn't happen until the last five minutes of transit.That's not a valid tracking # for any major carrier.I disabled signatures. -

Wow! The responses. When I posted the original post I had no preconception that it would get so many reads or so many responses so quickly. I did it out of frustration with trying to get one response from the business that I paid to be obligated to respond to an issue with my order that was of the very highest priority. I'm just a near 60 music lover and a long term strictly amateur musician who loves music and with all this free time on my hands lately thought that I'd treat myself to some high end speakers that might have some potential. That's all this is. But instead I'm tracking the possibility that I'm being screwed by PolkAudio.Com.

Polk customer service doesn't actively monitor this sub-forum so instead you're stuck with us fellow music lovers and enthusiasts.

I don't think anyone is trying to screw you, I just think their email program/overlay that they use to automatically insert tracking information into emails messed up the tracking number or something. -
BTW, what did you order and what are you hooking it up to?

It is highly plausible that this is an automated forum. Most forum platforms are automated so there's no predicting how long or if this chain will not suffer from one administrative mouse clik and be gone.
I ordered two LSiM705's having been totally impressed with attention to the mid-range of the Polk Signature Series S15 I bought last year because those were the largest bookshelved that I could wall mount and the price was very good. I'm running these off a Yamaha RX-V2095 that was a tad ahead of it's time and has proven to be a very musical as well as completely competent for AV duties. My head unit is an OPPO UDP-203. That Yamaha is absolutely competent to act as an intermediary if I should add a dedicated amp to power the LSiM's.
But this plan is so far theoretical. I bought the LSiM705's blind. I sure would like to know where those are.

I emailed; I called. I spent a few beers from 2:40pm - 3:04pm on hold listening to repeated announcements that the covid bug had understandably necessitated reduced levels of customer service. I'm fine with that.
But then at 3:05pm PDT the tension broke, there was a different voice, Grabbing the pertinent information to prepare to facilitate my inquiry traveled from hope to vanquish, as the different voice spoke and asked me to leave my order number and return phone number so they could call me back. So tomorrow the plan is that I wait by my phone in the hopes that she'll call me back. I've had better experiences dating in eCommerce land. So as I plan to spent all day tomorrow waiting by the phone for her to call to tell me if she is interested in me now that she has my money, I felt so alone and yet so inspired in these last few hours as so many felt my pain... and listened to my distress; that just a few hours ago seemed like this old goody by Eric Carmen.

I ordered the wood color. I was on the fence between that and the other. I don't spend too much effort trying to see what I hear as so many other people do. The Mount Vernon wood looked good in the photographs but honestly I really didn't care one way or another. If the flat black was a little cheaper I would have picked that one. I really didn't give a crap which color would sound the best. -
