LSiM-707s or 705s with my Denon AVR-4800 (125Wpc)?
I am setting up a home theater room in my basement. I have a Denon AVR-4800 as my centerpiece. Would you recommend LSiM-707s or LSiM-705s as my choice of speakers?

Either set of speakers would work. The 705s would be my choice though. A separate two channel amp in the 200 watt per channel range would improve the output too.

The 705s sound more cohesive for two channel music use compared to the 707s, which sound a little bit like a large monitor sitting on top of a subwoofer. It's subtle but overall I think the 705s are a little bit better integrated as a design even though they are a bit smaller. There's not much of a difference in power requirements between them. I have 707s in a home theater system, but only because the company sent me a pair of those by mistake when I ordered a pair of 705s.

Thanks for the reply. Can you elaborate on why the 705s vs the 708s?

Thank you for the great info. One final point of clarification- could you expand on your comment about “a separate two channel amp in the 200w range”?

Moar powaaaaah!
A higher current amp than was available in the receiver will bring out the best in the speakers. The 4800 was a $2K receiver 20 years ago, but even that did not have a high current amp section built into it. It should be good enough for the 705s or 707s by itself as long as it's not pushed too hard into clipping.

I had a decent Marantz receiver a while back on my 705s, they sounded good.
When I upgraded to some used power amps, boy did they come alive and really become much more engaging.
