Supposedly the best around. Based on previous Shunyata gear, I suspect it is.

Those pieces around the sockets are strange.

Yes, but they are practical. The big power cords when hanging down tend to pull out from the sockets. Those hoods keep the cords in the socket. I told them in the past to turn the sockets upside down so that gravity will push the cables in for a better connection, but they didn’t take my suggestion. :)

Or so they only properly fit Shunyata power cords. They should sell it as a package deal.

All decent power cords have that issue.

No, I didn’t order one. I would need three. One for each amp, one for three pieces of gear, and that is impractical. I already have the previous top of line gear, so I’m not losing any sleep over this release. Let’s see what’s next. Once I sell my Maryland house I will have more than enough money to waste. :)

The entire unit only weighs 34lbs...........imo that's a rather lightweight transformer for 20 amps and 8G's.

I wonder if there are any little miniature frozen mountain climbers that come with it.

    It's not an isolation transformer.

Taking a look at the product's description: "All outlets deliver both exceptional high current performance and standard-setting noise isolation that virtually eliminates component-to-component interference.

There are no current delivery restrictions of any kind within the Everest. Instead, DTCD® (dynamic transient current delivery) is markedly improved across all outlets."

It sounds like you actually wouldn't need three, and that everything could be plugged into this one unit. Might want to reach out to Shunyata to confirm that, but I'm not seeing any warnings against plugging high current monoblocks into this.

I used to have just one dedicated outlet, and everything was plugged into my Triton. However, when I played it loud, the breaker would trip. I then had another 20 amp line installed for just the amps. Same problem. Playing loud would cause that breaker to trip. So I had a third 20 amp line installed, one for each amp. Now I could play it loud, and not trip any breaker. Of course, I did blow up both speakers one night playing it too loud. :)

Yes. After breaking both speakers I calmed down. Now it rarely gets into the 90s on the DB meter. Sounds fabulous now.

As an experiment a few months back I plugged both my 1200 wpc amps and entire front end into my Furman ref20i on a single 20 amp circuit. Dynamics seemed to suffer slightly at extreme levels but other than that the rig sounded fine with no popped breakers. I wonder how the Everest would fare in a similar situation?
