POLK RTIA series Bookshelf or S20e

I have zeroed in on two bookshelf pairs

1.Polk RTIA1
2.Polk S20e

The confusion is only one.I read in RTI series product manual that they have a ferrousfluid in them for heat management probably.

Issue is i have read that they tend to degrade or clump up over time thereby destroying the fidelity of the speakers.

Thats the only reason why i looked into the S20e as i dont want to have to replace the speakers for a long time due to low finance and also i want to build the system over the years adding more speakers and i dont want to have to take the extra money to replace the ones already i own.

Any thoughts??

It's called ferrofluid and it's been used in hundreds, maybe thousands of tweeters for a very long time. Don't be surprised if the Signature series tweeters use it too.

As for building a system over time, the RTiA series is discontinued, so not a good choice if you can't buy all of them now.

If you listen to a lot of music - and especially if you will be using an entry/mid level home theater receiver - definitely go with the signature series. The tweeter in the RTiA series can be fatiguing. And yes, easier to build a system gradually around the signature series.
