Hi guys, new to the forum, new to POLK! Got some LS-70 questions

I'm pretty speaker savvy and have been trying to help a friend upgrade his nice little B&W stand mount on the cheap. They're a quality speaker with surprising bass but after he'd heard some of my larger DIY efforts he was looking for a bigger sound
I was able to pick up a set of LS-70 for $250 (Australian) which is good going for things in Perth, most stuff is ridiculously overpriced here. Anyway, I fixed a few issues with them (loose binding posts, voice coil rub) and after being initially underwhelmed I have to say they've really grown on me. Bass seems to have opened up and overall it's quite a nice sound
Now; the DIYer in me noticed that there was no stuffing behind the upper woofer. I know too much stuffing can sacrifice liveliness but I was wondering if any other owner had opinions/experience here?
I have upgraded crossover components in the past (on a old Sony) and found the results.....subtle, so unless people say otherwise I might leave the that be?
Opinions, suggestions, general meanderings, all appreciated.
