Assembling a 2ch rig.....

So, I've got my plan laid out....
So, I'm going to have a full on 2ch rig in the living room (the TV will operate with the Polk sound bar thing) with the 2.3tl's. So, I'm going to move the MF A1008 and the F1 Top Fuel Jolida CD playa out there. I plan on doing the x-over and tweeter upgrades etc etc....
In the ManCave....I'm going to get the Quads repaired and assemble a 2 ch rig for that. So, I'm of the opinion that the preamp is where it's at more so than the amp. So, for the time being, I'm ok with living with the Adcom. Gotta do something about the preamp though. Not a big fan of Adcom preamps. Always sounded a little dark to me......
Here is my conundrum....I've always liked the sound of CJ preamps, but, Jesus, Joseph and George Grand....when did used tube preamps get so freaking expensive?? It doesn't seem like it was that long ago, 5-700 bones bought a lot of preamp. WTF happened??
Also, coming to a FM near you.....a clean pair of 1986 blade/blade (non-tl'able)CRS's, Thiels and B&W DM 600 bookshelf speakers.....
