One of the problems I have is the space I have available to put anything new. The wife won't go for audio equipment laying around everywhere. The new classic or P5 probably won't fit in the space available. I'm going to have to see what I can do as far as space.

Which helped your sound more, the P5 or a streamer? If I could find a space to put either one.

Have you seen the actual size of a squeezebox touch? Very small and doubles as a clock. I would seriously consider a preamp and a touch to try out better quality streaming. Of course a lumin is better, but have a decent system and ears and the difference between my Bryston and touch is very slight...and if you don’t like the touch you can just move it along.

    Thanks I'll check it out.

Looks like a pretty solid option: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Logitech-Squeezebox-Touch-Remote-USB-Ethernet-Wireless-Audio-Music-Player-Stream/313074728930?_trkparms=aid=111001&algo=REC.SEED&ao=1&asc=20160908105057&meid=a86634eba00546da86af13b38c51e3f1&pid=100675&rk=1&rkt=15&mehot=none&sd=313074728930&itm=313074728930&pmt=1&noa=1&pg=2380057&brand=Logitech&_trksid=p2380057.c100675.m4236&_trkparms=pageci:89bf4d0c-908f-11ea-a33b-74dbd1803110|parentrq:f05ec6c91710aa652940ff85ffe4dd64|iid:1

My 2 cents.. I have the Yamaha 1060 and I got the Parasound P5 with HT bypass added a streamer and that was a game changer.

I started with a Auralic Aries Mini and then moved that to another rig an added a CA 851N. Having the pre and streamer took my modest rig to another level.

For $1000 bucks you could pick up a used P5 and Bluesound Node and be set.

We followed virtually the same path but I am running a CXN. I didn't start liking my 707's until I got of the computer and got on the streamers.

It was a cumulative effect but I added the P5 first and don’t laugh used a chromecast dongle until I could get a dedicated streamer. I have to say for $35 it wasn’t bad.

I don’t think that’s a bad idea at all! The chromecast audio for about $50 new on eBay is a great deal and using the optical out actually sounds pretty darn good! It will absolutely sound better than a usb stick into your receiver...

I use a FireTv. Not sure how it compares to the Chromecast, but I like it.
