Hello all,
Is the Denon AVR x3500h still a good receiver ($550 new at Amazon, thru an authorized seller)
The PROS I see in this model are the full set of pre-outs (in case I want to use external amps someday, and the Audyssey XT32............and I also have a $150 Amazon gift card !
I was also considering the Onkyo TX-NR797 for the 2 extra channels, but it has no pre-outs and is more expensive...

I love my avr-x4200w with the same audyssey. It sounds terrific, just slightly better for movies that either my Yamaha rx-a1010 or marantz sr5007, of course it’s a higher model than both of those. I would avoid the onkyo!Living Room 2.2: Usher BE-718 "tiny dancers"; Dual DIY Dayton audio RSS210HF-4 Subs with Dayton SPA-250 amps; Arcam SA30; Musical Fidelity A308; Sony UBP-x1000es

when you say the 4200 sounds terrific, do you believe the 3500 will be in the same "trend"?RTiA5 + CSiA4 + Jamo SW410E

While I certainly can’t say for sure without hearing it, the reviews are fantastic and it is very similar specs wise. it is about 4 pounds lighter but that only matters if it makes an audible difference, which I don’t know if it does!
I have always buy used, so it’s hard for me to judge price/value, but that seems like a really good price for what you get!Living Room 2.2: Usher BE-718 "tiny dancers"; Dual DIY Dayton audio RSS210HF-4 Subs with Dayton SPA-250 amps; Arcam SA30; Musical Fidelity A308; Sony UBP-x1000es
