Anyone familiar with 5687 tubes?

I am currently deployed but picked up a few new toys to play with when I get home. One of which was a Modwright SWL 9.0 Anniversary edition which uses 5687 driver tubes. I am unfamiliar with the family (and the substitutes 7044/6900/7119), looking for some recommendations for some tubes to start rolling with when I get back. I have heard the Raytheon tubes are commonly recommended, wanted to see if anyone here has any first hand experience. I really liked the Mullard shield logo 12AU7's sound in my Backert Rhumba if that helps at all

medium mu twin triode.
Amplification factor = 18 (both units).

Interesting, thanks for that! I sent an email off to Dan at MW as well to ask him. I am seeing the RCA Bronze plates and Raytheon bronze plates tubes are highly recommended in MW pres2 Channel in my home attic/bar/man cave

They're some nice 5687 tubes on ebay at the moment. the Raytheons are nice tubes. I had several Raytheon tubes over the years I was not disappointed. I've never had any of these tubes by the way FWIW.

Dan sent me back an email that wasn't especially helpful, I'm sure he has lots of other stuff going on at the moment. I think I'll be trying the RCA and Raytheon Bronze tubes and go from there, they seem to be the most recommended in the original SWL 9.02 Channel in my home attic/bar/man cave
