Computer Guru's again needed! I still be dumb...So,

So, I currently use a Fuji Finepix camera that I download pics to the computer and do my editing etc...recently the steps that I have been doing for years is going wonky...what I want to know is if I download the installation cd I still have for this will it wack things out seeing that I already have it downloaded or will it ask me to replace it or...?? Don't want to uninstall the already installed one if it turns out the disc wont load etc....

    What kind of computer are you using?
    Windows or MAC?
    Have you just had some recent program updates from Microsoft or Apple?

    Windows...I believe it just went to the new edition of Edge which I was already using..

    Can you explain a little more on the wonkiness?

    You can reinstall the software, and it shouldn't mess up the core installation, however, you may lose any custom settings. 50/50.

    If you can detail the process and where things go wrong, we might be able to figure out how to fix your process.

    Well, for one thing...the original way things were done was I downloaded pics and then it automatically erased them from the finepix...not no more, I do not get the option to do that like before...also, and much annoying, when I hook up the camera the options it does show me do not work, for instance, I can check off which pics to download or there is an option to do all, either one of them I pick there is 3-4 second pause, and then it goes back to wherever I was before, taking me completely off the download page...

    and yes, 10 is what I am using and have been before this glitch or whatever it is...maybe I will just try the CD download and see what happens

    What program is it that you are using for the importing and editing? I get that you may be comfortable with it, but most cataloging/editing programs that come with cameras are fair at best. Have you considered transitioning to Adobe Photoshop Elements? It’s pretty cheap, and quite intuitive...
