So today, just got a new office chair delivered for the Mrs! Only fair, since I commandeered the office after we moved into the house, and despite the desk I got for her, she still prefers the kitchen table!

Herman Miller Aeron! Way better than the POS chair I use!

Don’t be surprised if she still prefers the kitchen! Some people don’t like being “locked up” in an office. 😉

P.S. No change work wise in our household. Nobody has to travel down to the 777 Tower anymore, but we love it!

Saving two hours of traffic daily, not to mention gas costs and monthly parking charges for garage access! The average speed coming home, at the end of the drive, (according to the trip computer) is usually between 9 and 15 mph, even though 70% of the distance is on the freeway at about 50-60 the whole way.

Best wishes for good luck 🍀 to those that are unable to work, hoping that they get paid, and/or find something better when this is all over.

Today and Monday is a company holiday. Already at home, just not popping open the work laptop. Normally for Easter we make the trek to visit family, go out for Easter dinner. This year will be different for sure.

My wife got a memo Mon. at work saying she is one that has to work from home 4 days out of the week as do most of their employees now. One day is allowed to go in and make copies or do any other stuff she can't do here.

She's had a long week here. She's rather be in the glass palace downtown with a big desk and 2 big monitors and a view from the 7th floor overlooking Wilmington and the Cape Fear River. ;) I would too. :)
Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them.

I've been so fortunate in life. Retired, still have my health and most of my sanity.

My wife still works, God Bless Her. She's a GM of a Telecom Co. and has been working from home for a couple of weeks now, not much chance of her being laid off.

In fact, her Co. has been busier than ever with the need for Hi-Speed Broadband with so many working from home now, along with the kids being home as well.

I feel for all of you that have been affected by this Virus and the circumstances that have arisen from it.

I only wish I could delegate my workload. Busier than freakin' EVER. Wow.

At a time to where the whole world is off? I'd kinda like to enjoy the time. My wife will call herself a work widow soon.

As independent IT for small businesses and residences, I have several dozen computers on remote access. The business demand for remote assistance is decreasing dramatically while the residential is roughly holding even. If only remote assistance were enough to pay the bills.

Fortunately a colleague whose business is very similar retired last year and has been referring his clients to me as their needs arise. Don't know if that'll be enough to see me over the hump. Depends in part on if/when they pay.

Veterinary service is up locally, I'm told by a couple of clients. People are more aware of their pet's needs apparently. Also sometimes just looking for somewhere safe to go/do as the vets are curbside service only.

So far for me, four (small) projects are on hold until after face-to-face is no longer so risky. Hope they're still valid/needed when the smoke clears.

Also being extra careful for the sake of my senior clients. I've been helping many of them for over 10-20 years. At this point, they're as much friends as clients - many of them in their 80s and 90s.

GF has been working strictly from home for 2 1/2 weeks so far. Not so (professionally) difficult for her to not go to the office as she's in internal corporate communications. Very fortunate the elderly laptop for her desk was upgraded just a week before having to stay home. Her workload almost doubled the first two weeks though. She has some whiplash from not going to the same office building every workday for 28 years. Also semi-serious claustrophobia from being house-bound. She's not as introverted as she believed. (As I long suspected. HA) Getting Duo video calls from her midday sometimes. We've been a long distance couple for almost 20 years and had been able to see each other every two/three weeks.
Expect that there will be bumps in the road. Choose to not let them rattle you.

We keep seeing a steady amount of work coming at us, I have a feeling in the coming weeks we might see a week or two of it slowing but I also think we will see an influx of work coming at us after that, and have us wondering how we are going handle it...

Had a girl from my work lie on some Facebook response that she had Covid-19. Keep in mind, we work for a medical practice. Threw the entire practice into a panic.

Needless to say, her furlough turned into a permanent, unpaid vacation.
