Looking to buy several albums on disc, SACD/HDCD/CD/DVD-Audio and such.
Can you guys give some suggestions to reputable mail order retailers??

Acoustic Sounds and Music Direct were a few I was looking into.

Thanks!

Check out Discogs. You can choose what you want down to the specific pressing, region, that rare copy that has a barcode on the back when most don't type thing.

I finally found out how to play DSD and FLAC 24 bit 192khz from a thumb drive via USB port on my Yamaha Aventage HTR.

I also found Qobus that allows me to download single tracks in FLAC.

Discogs looks to be very good source for specialty albums. Thanks!

For single track FLAC I also use Qobuz and also 7Digital. Check both and compare prices. Sometimes one is cheaper, other times the other is cheaper. Depends on the album.

These are straight files right? Dont need any proprietary software to listen to them? I head Tidal makes one use MQ.. something or another which wont work for my Yammy through the usb.

Thanks for the 7digital. I'll take a look now.

Yes, just normal flac. My preferred method is to load them up on a thumb drive and plug it straight into my Marantz Network player/DAC. It has no issues playing them. My computer plays them without issue, also. In case you're not used to it, after purchase you select which format for download. Flac isn't selected by default. Don't forget to download the album art, as well. It's offered on both sites. I found that most digital download sites don't offer single track downloads, just full albums. But I've had good luck with Qobuz and 7Digital.

I usually buy full albums used off of eBay. But for those albums with one good song and the rest being turds, I just download single tracks.

Yes Discogs . I look there first but recently found a rare jazz rock CD on eBay for a lot better price than was listed on Discogs. I take a beating every time I buy a CD as I usually end up selling it for half of what I paid for it.

Recently sold $1500.00 worth of CDs on Craig's list for $700.00. Crazy stuff

Thanks guys. I picked up the Tool Inoculum album in 24 bit FLAC as well as 13 other individual tracks from Qubuz. So far I'm very happy with the service they provide.

Tool's toms hit hard and the highs sparkle. Very clean recording.

I notice right away playing from the USB drive the sound floor is zero. Imaging for a Dennis Lloyd song I played was scary good. I actually had to check that my center channel was not playing.

Mozart Requiem In D minor gave me goose bumps. You could feel the violin!

Remember, I've been using Pandora and YouTube for 85% or more of my music. So these FLAC files are a treat.
