Polk Signa S1 - Setting for Clear Voice?

I have an older Polk Signa S1 - Soundbar+Woofer. I've played around with the remote but haven't been able to figure out the best setting to be able to reduce the background music and make the dialog clearer. I've tried reducing the base, turning on the "Night Switch" and the "Voice Adjust" on 3 (max). Is this the best setting or should I decrease the base to hear the dialog better? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Are there any other products out there that can effectively reduce the background music and significantly increase the clarity of the dialog?
