you probably have a ground loop hum. Unplug you cable or DSS coax cable and see if the hum goes away. If it does then you have to buy a coax isolator at Radio Shack. The other option is to buy a 2 prong power adapter and plug that into the power cord and then into the outlet. These only cost about $1.00 and can be bought anywhere. I had to do that with my 3000 sub. I would buy a decent surge protector for the subs. Good Luck. Jeff

I had the same problem with mine and tried everything to solve it with no luck. Looked for ground loops, used the two prong plugs and nothing worked UNTILL I reached around the back and the hum almost disappered. When I looked to see why I found I had my finger on the LFE input. take the finger off, loud hum. Put the finger on and the hum would almost dissapear. My fix was to get two RCA plugs from radio shack, two crimp on spade terminals and two 3 inch pieces of wire. Crimp the terminals on one end of the wire and solder the other end to the sheild of the RCA plug. Next to the LFE jack on the back of the speaker is a little screw. loosen the screw, slide the spade terminal under it and tighten the screw. Plug the RCA plug into the LFE jack and the hum should almost dissapear. IMPORTANT Solder the wire only to the sheilding part of the plug and not the center part of the plug!IMPORTANT Good luck. Marty
