The Sopranos questions

I've got a question about The Sopranos.

Are the characters on the series real people? What I mean is, was Tony Soprano, Carmella, Pauly Walnuts, Christopher ect... real life people? Or are the characters on the series all fictional characters?

I'm not asking if the story lines & characters were based on real events & people. Is there a real Soprano family?

The reason I ask is I'm reading this book: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=377&item=4212576339&rd=1

If you read this book, and take everything in the book to be true & real, it says all the characters on the series are real life people. OR, if this book is complete fiction, and written just to tie into the series, then all the characters in the series are fictional.

I'm confused. Real or not?

I'm pretty sure they are fictional...

outside of that I am definetly hooked on the series.

Me too. A co-worker has loaned me that book. It goes thru the 3'rd season. I saw on Ebay that the revised edition is out, goes thru the 4'th season. I think I'll wait until they revise for the 5'th season, and pick it up.

    I totally recommend this book.

Yeah, no kidding, only one episode left.

Can you believe they whacked Adrianna? I didn't see that coming until Silvio turned the car down that dirt road. I about fell on the floor when I saw that.

Also, to clear up my original questioin. I got to the point in the book where David Chase is interviewed. In this portion of the book, it states, "A few years back, TV writer-producer David Chase decided to create a dramatic series based on the lives of the Sopranos. Through a stroke of good fortune, he gained access to Jeffrey Wernick's unedited research files. From this came "The Sopranos.""

So, the story lines of the series are "based" on actual events, but the characters are 100% real. Their names are real, their relationships are real (i.e. Tony & Carmella, Christoper & Adrianna).

So think about this, there is a real Tony Soprano running around in New Jersey right now. The book also states Tony is still alive & living in New Jersey.

This, to me, makes this series even better, now that I know Tony and the gang are all real people.

same here, it was completely came from the left field and I wasn't prepared to see her being shot at like a dog. I think both Tony and Chris will be pretty eff' up in the last two (I presume, two episodes in two weekends before June 6th) in memory of Adriana. Good episode, all in all!

Actually, there is only 1 episode left. Next week is a blank. Whether they show a rerun, or something else, I don't know.

I think HBO has weaseled a deal with cable TV & Satellite TV. Now, to catch the last episode, I have to keep HBO on my Direct TV bill for another month. I am going to cancel HBO after The Sopranos season ends. (HBO sucks, how many times can one watch Spiderman, Harry Potter, and Catch Me if You Can?)

Back to Ade getting popped. I thought that Christopher was going to turn himself in to the FBI, per the Monday morning deal Adrianna had worked out. He was so pissed about having to split the cigarrette run with Pauly, I thought he was ready to kill Tony. What a twist.

What do you think will happen in the last episode? I think Phil Leotardo will without a doubt get rubbed out. I'd also like to see Johnny Sack eat it too. Never did like that guy.

my wild assed guess from left field is that Tony and young Carmine(NY) will align but Chris M and/or Pauly gets wacked so cousin Tony is back in play. Silvio should make it through.

There is a chance that Tony S goes down but... where is Furio!!!;) Italy may step in to calm the chaos if Tony goes down. There is money in imports(remember the Italian God Mother...! She needs to come back:D

I guess the bigger question is, with only 1 episode left, will we see a season #6? At the beginning of this season, all the word was #5 will be the last.

A co-worker of mine has been reading internet rumors & such that says there will be a season #6, although I've heard nothing to substaniate this claim. Anyone heard anything about season #6?

And what about **** Vito? Remember a couple weeks ago when he was "servicing" that security guard? What the hell was that all about? Nasty.

Thanks for the contribution.;) You certainly are entitled to your opinion. I can remember once when I almost caught on fire from being flamed when I said I can't stand LOTR, so you'll get no crap from me for not liking the show.

I have never seen a show that generates as much "water cooler meetings" other than Seinfeld.

Anyone heard anything solid about a 6'th season?

The only thing I could come up with, is it was some symbolism. Like "appearance may be deceiving" or "things may not be as they appear". This symbolism could turn up again, like someone who you'd never expect turns out to be squealing to the Fuzz.

Or it could be nothing at all, just one of those random non-sequiters, writen into the story by some goofball trying to be funny.

Not the only one ... but then I never particularly cared for Seinfeld or Friends or any other sitcom for that matter ...

    spare me, please ;)

her sagging **** and humongous thigh would clearly be the main reason for getting rid Adrianna....:D

btw, I think Adrianna is getting ready for the "Joey" sitcom with Matt LeBlanc

you know, Friends draws its longevity from the interaction synergy of the casts. Peeling the cast apart, I agree with you, it will be a major challenge (except for Frasier, I guess)

That Joey show will be entirely forced. It will be like watching some fat bafoon trying to act like Joey, instead of him just being Joey.

I predict a major stinker in that one.

ok, I suppose there's no more Anthony (the cousin) in the next season. Anybody saw the last episode last night?

It was a great make up job on Anthony's face, with that big hole on his temple....

    Yeah, that was pretty gruesome...

I was alittle pissed about the Johnny Sack thing. That was just too easy. I feel the writers took the easy way out with that.

Yeah, the last two episodes were pretty good after a few "questionable" episodes during the season like that Tony S. dreams one.

Interesting turn of events. I'm sad to see Adrianna go too.

I thought Chris was going to snap when the thugs were antagonizing his mom. With Tony B. out the picture now, his future is looking better if he can stay clean.

Yeah, the Johnny Sac thing was weak. And to think Tony ran away from that? LOL....and walked home even? Through the three feet of snow like Abe Lincoln walking to school I was thinking after all the general symbolism with the painting. What happened to his cell phone and calling Paulie to pick him up?

Will the New York scene open up for Tony now that Johnny Sac is potentially going to jail? I missed who ratted out or if the lawyer even said?

This is the only tv show that I watch regularly by the way. I don't ever miss it. The one liners are a kick. How about the one at the dinner at the toast and the **** thing. Funny..
