I've heard about them, yes. It's a quite common (yet expensive...) brand here in Norway.
Bang & Olufsen is a Danish company famous for their design.
The design/sound ratio of their products is normally good, but you shouldn't expect loud listening levels...

    Here's their homepage:

aesthetically - one of the best
sonically - leaves something to be desired

not the best bang for your buck speaker out there, there are many better choices for sonic quality for a lot less. if you want to impress the hell out of your guests with the way the system looks, they do it pretty well...

    just my .02...

    AH!
Thanks for the info. I was asking because i used to work for a industrial cleaning company when i was younger. One of our clients did biz with us to clean a couple of their warehouses. We didnt do home cleaning but who were we to say no to one of our biggest client when they asked to clean their multimillion house and countryhome. Once there they sent me downstairs with another guy.....
So im cleaning and stuff and i eventually land in the Hi fi room :D
I come face to face with these weird looking speakers that had LCD screens in them !?!! They even showed the room's temperature !!! I wanted to give these 40 000 CAN $ speakers a run for their money right away cuz their owners just had them there to pick up dust i later learned that they had 8 pairs of these in all !!!!! ). The moment i was waiting for arrived when they left to do some shopping :D
So i popped one of my cd's in (i allways had a cd-man on me) and turned the volume up. I was about 17 years old at the time and i had big cerwin vega's at the time so basically i wanted to see or rather hear if these B&O's could give me BAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSS.
Well, i was kind of surprised of how loud these thin speakers could play but they sure couldnt bomb the bass like my CV's did:D
I didnt know jack **** about good speakers then so i thought that they sounded ok. All i know was that distorsion could be heard at high listening levels.
BUT, they had a HUGE subwoofer in the room also. At first i thought it was some sort of rich deco style coffee and caviar table. The thing was huge and it SURE MADE THE HOUSE SHAKE. By that time my boss had come down and well...... thats it :)
So the lesson to be learned here is : Never leave your house when "professionals" are cleaning it. ;)

I used to own a Bang & Olufsen turntable. it was beautiful in it's design.. pricey yes... but it never worked all that well.. mainly because I think it was nearly 20 yrs old. It had a bad hum in the audio. I tried everything i could do to get rid of the hum.. but nothing worked.. so I sold it. I hated to part with is.. i should have just kept it for the looks of is. Some B&O components are in the museum of modern design. Check out their web site.. interesting stuff.

Yeah, they have some weird looking stuff in there.
Bah, i didnt worry about the owners since they werent there. And im pretty sure that they didnt use their HI-FI system at all. You know, bought those speakers for the looks...... Geez, they even had one (well 2) of those Bombardier electrical mini cars to move from they country house to the 500 000 $ garage !!! (20 secs walk)
The way i saw it was that they spent LOTS of money to get these background wallpaper speakers...... i just wanted to see, or hear if these speakers could justify the high price. Other than learning that i was listening to music at a temperature 0f 23 degrees... i didnt learn or heard anything new that day.
Except for that HUGE SUB !!!! WOW, biggest sub i ever saw.
It was the size of a 32" TV, H/W/W !!!! It was big!
