Allison Acoustics IC20

I read up on them thar speakers and they sound about as complicated as wImings. I guess they chose the right name for them. If I were to ever get a set I would put them in the kitchen.
-
seems plausible. They look like Allison Ones on steroids (or acid, as the case may be).
Roy Allison had it goin' on, loudspeaker-wise (and IMO, of course).
-
Doc, is Roy Allison "dearly departed"?
-
Yes, he died just a couple of years ago -- 2017 IIRC.
He was one of the last of the AR gang and, by all accounts, a fine fellow. He lived here in NH, but down on the other side of the state (near or perhaps on the seacoast... yes, NH has a seacoast ).
EDIT: 2016 https://audiokarma.org/forums/index.php?threads/roy-f-allison-1927-2016.706039/
He and Villchur both lived to fairly ripe old ages; there was a great interview with them in... umm... Stereophile (I think).
EDIT: Yeppers. 2005.

Acoustic Research.
Villchur, Kloss, Allison -- and, by extension guys like Burhoe and, umm, the Avid (later Boston Acoustics) guy... whose name is escaping me at the moment... Andy somebody...Sorry if I'm stepping on your toes on this one Bruce, but since the vintage gurus are here I thought I'd ask. What are these?
no idea. Looks like a third-party cabinet; common in the 1950s into early 1960s. Folks bought the cabinet and loaded with whatever drivers they wanted to/could afford to.
Actually, the non-mitered trim suggests DIY, maybe?

No problem no toes. I have no arms or legs, they use me for third base. -

Ones that you probably should buy. 2.3s, although it doesn't appear to have the SL3000 tweeters that the 2.3TL would have. -
Those are SDA SRS 2.3TL's with the original SL3000 tweeters.Political Correctness'.........defined
