Anybody experiencing a Qobuz Outage?

It was working fine all day after initiating my one month trial and now I'm getting the spinning wheel no matter what I try to play. I had a couple errors during the installation of the desktop app but, as I say, it worked fine for a few hours initially!

I have tried quobuz twice and each time I have had issues with playback. Either not playing or only playing thirty seconds.

Quobuz tech support simply states its a problem in my end... Have canceled the service twice

My first time around with them, the app would eventually crash and no longer work. I would uninstall the app and re-install and it would work for a while and crash again. Lather rinse repeat. This is with Windows 10. My friend tested it simultaneously at his place with a laptop running Windows 10. Same deal. The technical support took all my error reports and screenshots of eventviewer and trouble log files and thanked me but, arrogantly I feel, never responded with any sort of explanation! I was like.....dudes......you need to extend my 1 month trial, which by the way, the guy at the New York Audio Show (their rep) told me I was getting 2 months. After talking with someone at this year's show he said there were indeed problems but they had fixed them and I should sign up again with a different email.

Well here we go again lol.

The app works perfect on my lumin, mini and blue node. Never once had an issue and much happier than tidal.

    @WagnerRC I guess you're talking music streamers, a world I haven't explored yet.

So.....is it working now as in no outage?

So this morning it still wasn't working (spinning wheel yada yada) and I uninstalled the app and re-installed. Got these two error popups again during the installation and I just clicked *OK*. What else ya gonna do? As of *now* it is working again, playing Close to the Edge hi res. Took about a minute where it said *Not Responding* before playback started properly.

PS: I do see that a Java update is *ready to be installed* and waiting for my OK. Something to try.

Hmm, yeah, no issues here this AM. I did just start up Qobuz and there was an update available. Unsure whether related.

Does look like more of a Java issue. I'd probably
    • Remove both Java and Qobuz using Revo Uninstaller (run advanced option, delete leftover files and registry entries)
    • Restart
    • Disable your security software
    • Reinstall Java, then Qobuz

    (I'm a Qobuz newbie, btw)

@msg do you need Revo Uninstaller present on the computer before the installation for it to perform that advanced removal process?

    Thanks for the tips.

Nah, that's just a utility I use to thoroughly clean up.

In fact, go ahead and try the above without Revo and see how it goes. I just use it all the time since apps sometimes leave leftovers when you remove them, and I like to try to keep things as tidy as possible. It's a handy utility to use if you're having trouble removing an application or some sticky leftover files causing problems, though this is usually if you want to make sure you're clearing any application configuration information that can sometimes stay on the machine after you run the application's uninstaller.

There's a freeware version if you find you need it.

Javascript would be a code error, nothing to do with Java. Error looks like a corrupted file.

Probably a coding error on their part. I don't have a lot of confidence in them.

Qobuz had been working pretty well since the re-installation, but just started playing 2 songs at once while I was doing the dishes with Grateful Dead Pacific Northwest '73-'74 on. WTF.

Paul, are you seeing Java errors as well, or problems more in the way of the stream performance? What stream quality are you playing?

I'm not giving up on it yet. It's been working pretty well past 2 days. I have made some improvements to my system since I cancelled my Qobuz trial about a year ago and I'm thinking I like the unexpurgated high res streams vs the TIDAL MQA. I had previously thought that the MQA had a naturalness or warmness or a certain reverb quality but perhaps @F1nut (aka Uncle Jesse) is correct and it is really just a form of lossiness or distortion or noise and that some people under certain circumstances prefer it. I do not think I do anymore especially after comparing certain things like "Africa Speaks" and "Crime Of The Century" that I have listened to enough to notice the differences.
