I went through some records today and found this along with some others, Prince, Petty, Led Zep..
This one seems special though. Discogs has a pretty high ceiling on it. Anyone have this?

What about it?

Holy grail in my opinion. Depending on condition.
I have my eye on one at a local shop that is unopened. He wants $300 for it. I offered $200 and he would not take it.

oh, mine's been played quite a bit over the last four decades.
Based on what I read, modern ears find it somewhat thick, heavy and rolled off (on top) as befits (so the story goes) the limitations of the typical equipment upon which these disks were played when new. Stan Riker rather famously EQd the eary MoFi half-speed mastered LPs by ear (and this is a pretty early one, which I am pretty sure Riker mastered). I always liked the sound of his MoFi LPs (DSotM included), but not everyone does.

This is making me want to get a pre-amp with a phono section so that I can dig out my old Dual turntable with ULM Ortofon cartridge. Been so long since I played any of my vinyl. I have heard that the SQ is lacking in all the DSOTM releases. I wonder what the SACD will sound like. Could be awesome. Don't know if it has shipped yet. Pink Floyd seems very reticent to release High res offerings and allow them to be streamed, or even sold on HDTracks and the like. They are probably being shrewd due to the ease of copying and the tiny amts $ that they get from streaming.George / NJ

well i found it in a garage sale for a couple bucks. the cover has some separation on the bottom corner that drives the value down, but otherwise its in pretty good shape.. slapped it on ebay with no reserve as I have another copy.the Vinyl is clean and I've played it twice and it spins great.
