My Polk PSW 505 is stuck in standby mode. (Red light)

Hey everyone, My Polk sub woofer suddenly stopped working. It receives power, the red light is on and i've checked and replaced the fuse at the back. I've written twice to Customer support with no reply. Any assistance is welcome.

Can you please send me a direct message with the best contact number to reach you as well as email address? If you happen to have an incident number please include that as well. I'll have a technician reach out to you directly to troubleshoot the issue.

I am having the same problem with my PSW 505 subwoofer. Toggling the power switch on lights up the indicator light in red, but no type of input connection will obtain a change to a green light, and no sound of ANY kind comes out of the subwoofer. Not even a slight thud, hum or buzz when turning the power switch on, or during connecting/disconnecting cables while powered up. Tried multiple sources and cables. Is this the notorious plate amp failure?

Well, I have started down the rabbit hole with Polk Audio customer service. Will find out what their current policy on replacement plate amps is. From what I've read in old posts online, the replacement amp is no better than the original and fails pretty routinely too. All because the bean counters at Polk wouldn't pay an extra $10 for decent capacitors.....

It's not just Polk, plate amps in general have a rather high failure rate regardless of the cost of the sub. For example, I recently had the plate amp in a still under warranty $2500.00 sub fail.

I was considering a Dayton replacement for the PSW 505, but there are multiple 1 star reviews citing failure in those plate amps! I guess I could convert the 505 into a passive sub, but have no idea what small external amp would be a cost effective.
