Well , it took me a while to try this out before setting up in my 16 yr old sons room .....
I disconnected the A21 and put the Ampino in its place with some spare cables and the Yamaha wxc-50 feeding it Tidal hi-fi ....
All I can say is WOW !
I was shocked .
It drives the 1c’s way more than loud enough without breaking a sweat .
I never got past the 10 ‘o’clock position on the volume ..... that was plenty of power .
Here’s some impressions vs the A21 - not a comparison, just my thoughts .....
It’s a very impressive little amplifier .....
At very low volume the highs are a tad muddled and it lacks the low end “oomph” and detail of the A21 - to be expected, right ?
However , as you crank the volume up the the highs tighten up and the bass really comes to life .
All in all , I am extremely impressed with what this thing can do .... amazing that 25 little watts can bring the polks to life in the manner it does ... it must have plenty of current ....
The A21 is WAY overkill for the bedroom ( but I got a good deal on it ) and , trust me , this Ampino would be MORE than satisfactory , if not PERFECT for my bedroom ....
Next up is the Ampino paired with my Salks , when I have more free time ....
Anyways , for anyone who was curious, like me , this thing has more than enough power and finesse to drive 1c’s to a volume level that will satisfy just about any sane person .
Verb , thank you so much again !
