Biamping RTi70's?
Is it possible to biamp the 70's, using the "A" speaker outputs on the receiver to power the tweets, and the "B" outputs for the woofers. I checked the back of the receiver, and under the impendance selector, it says you can do this. I've been thinking about it, and even if it does work, I'm guessing I won't be able to up the volume very much before it overheats. Another question, since I'll have to switch the impendace to run both outputs at once, it says the minimum for the other speakers is 6 ohms. Will this cause harm to the CSi40, and 38's, which are both 8 ohm speakers. The minimum for the fronts is 8 ohms, by the way. Does anyone recommend doing this? Will I harm the speakers or receiver in any way? Sorry if this is a stupid question...

Ah...."Ghetto Bi-amping"...It's been a while since anyone asked about this....

MS, just to expand on the point that Troy made in the thread which Shack linked, whether it's called "ghetto biamping" or whatever, there's actually nothing biamping about it, so the answer is no. The A and B terminals are merely connected in parallel to the same amplifier channel in the receiver(no second amp is involved) and what you'd be doing would therefore just be one way of accomplishing bi-wiring, which is of no significant electrical benefit.

Yeah, I feel really stupid now. *slaps self*
