Htpc 4k comparability.

So I've got some concerns about parking an htpc. I've got 2 and ryzen builds, with more than enough horsepower to run 4k, an 1800x with a 1070ti, and a 3600 with a 1080. Only problem I see, all the 4k optical drives say they're only compatible with 7th gen Intel or newer, unless you wanna go through some work arounds. I don't want work arounds, or bootlegs, or pirated media. I want to make something that works right. Does anyone know if there's any legit and easy ways to make AMD play nice with 4k BD, or do I need to build an Intel rig for an htpc. I've already got someone interested in buying one of my PC's which would probably fund it. Is 8t worth it? I was probably gonna upgrade my Xbox to a one x anywho, should I just be content with that? I also have a small msi trident PC, running an Intel 8400 and a 1060 3gb. It is an ultra small form factor PC, that doesn't support an internal optical drive, so there may be some sort of work around there. Any suggestions guys?

The least amount of headaches and rage fests is going to be to build an Intel based box.

As for firmwares, I have a method for reverting to previous UHD friendly firmwares that you can PM me about and I can send you some simple instructions. Worked for all 9 of the UHD friendly drives I have/have had."Some people find it easier to be conceited rather than correct."
