Hey folks. Well, looks like its time for me to upgrade my PDA. Any of you out there have any advice on which Pocket PC is the one to get? My only request is that it has wireless connectivity. It just seems lame to get one and not be able to check email on the go.

For price/performance, I might have to reccomend the Zire 71 made by Palm. I have seen recent deals on them for somewhere around $100, which is awesome if you ask me. They have a memory card slot (a must) and are wifi enabled as well (actually, second guessing myself for a minute... are they?) anyway I think they are snazzy little PDA's. If I can find where I read to get them so cheap ill post back if you're interested.

Not sure if the Zire 71 does, but the new Zire 72 does. Any other suggestions? Also, minimum 32mb memory.

Is this the best you all can do? How about Dell Pocket PCs? I see they just released a 624MHz Axim 30 for $349.

I used to own a Dell Axim. I really liked it. At the time, it was the best Pocket PC for the price. Can't go wrong with a Dell. They always have deals on them, so keep checking their web site. They're a lot thinner now, too. Good deals abound for used ones.

I just hate the thought of giving Dell any money. I hate them with a passion. Their CS is from Hell.

    Shizelbs,

Please provide more information about your requirements like:

    1. what’s your budget?.
    2. do you have any preference between windows or palm OS
    3. what options you need built in:
    - Camera
    - Blue tooth
    - Wifi
    - GPS
    4. How much expansion you require (to add components later)

I have done a lot of research on pocket PCs in last couple of months and tried the following
Palm zire 21, palm zire 71, Toshiba e355, and Toshiba e740
My budget was between 150 and 200 and I finally settled on Toshiba e740. Got it for $180. It runs pocket PC 2002 and has 32 MB RAM and 64 MB ROM and has built in WIFI along with both CF and SD expansion slots. So far I am very happy with it and have bought a 128MB CF card for $17. Now this unit also works as portable mp3 player for me.

No budget restrictions. It just has to be worth it. I am not cheap, but not a guy to buy something just to have it. Its got to have value. Its primary use is to store and use pharmacy/drug reference programs (ie I will be using it for work and interning). I would prefer something newer than older and more likely to become obsolete sooner. Wifi is a must. It just seems stupid to not get it. No need for camera. I don't want GPS. I have no preference of Palm OS or Windows PPC OS. Thats really about all.

HP iPAQ h4150 and Toshiba e800 will do your job. Both has good reviews. Toshiba has a better resolution (640*480) as compared the the HP but HP have reletively better CS.
