What to do about a null spot?

All right i just discovered or should i say finally determined that the sweetspot in my home theater is in a bass null area,i can move just to the right or left of this spot and the sub output increases at least 10 db,no wonder i have to keep setting the bass levels and sub output so high.So what are my options here? move?What causes this,room setup,furniture placement,ceiling tile???
