Best concert I ever saw was Gov't Mule at the Beacon on NYE 2007. Winter of Love. The played for 5 hours, with a second set covering 1967 Summer of Love songs: Grateful Dead, Hendrix, Cream, Beatles, Rolling Stones, John Coltrane, Otis Redding, etc. Just an amazing experince. My son, who was 15 at the time, was also spellbound. We met the band afterwords outside of the Beacon and I got 3 of 4 band members to sign the show poster (all except for then-bassist Andy Hess). I also saw them at the following year's NYE show but that 2007 NYE show was the greatest!
  • I have tickets to the Philly show on the 27th. First mule show for me. Their playing at The Met, which is a 3500 seat venue that opened last December.

  • Great show! We didn't get any Beatles covers but Ron Holloway added an additional spark. I particularly enjoyed the end of the first set where he joined the band for Devil Likes it Slow and then a Robert Johnson cover of 32-20 Blues.

The encore was awesome with Warren and Duane Betts teaming up for this Allman Brothers classic:
