Which Monitor 7's do I have?

Are these series II? I have had these for a couple years and decided to sell them and a potential buyer was asking about the crossovers... I vaguely remember the seller telling me he replaced the tweets (are they peerless? they say Polk Audio on them)..sh0786siaqy8.jpg

Looks like the Monitor 7 Series 2. I don't see the foam gasket on the tweeter so it is not the SL-2500. They are probably (hopefully) the RD0198. if you pull a speaker it should be dated after 1990.

Edit: Just saw the picture of the crossover. It is a Monitor 7 Series 2

AFAIK the newer tweeters do not have a date. You can tell the replacement RDO194 from the RDO198 tweeter by the tabs where the wire plugs in. One has the same size tab and the other has different sized tabs. Unfortunately I can not remember which is which right now. I am sure someone else can help you with that.

If you keep the speakers you should rebuilt the crossover with new poly caps and non inductive resistors. Recapped with the RDO198 tweeters it would sound great. Monitor 7's are well regarded here and are considered the sweet spot in the classic Monitor line. But if you are going to sell them just sell them as is. You will spend more to rebuild the crossovers than the speaker is worth now and you will not get your investment back.

The RD0198 has different size terminals, the RD0194 are both the same.

Pulled both, absolutely nothing on the tweeter other than the front, the mid/bass was dated may 1993. Would there be much benefit to upgrading the caps in the crossover? I was going to sell these and find something smaller for my bedroom but honestly to me they sound just as good as my 75t's in my main rig.
