LSi Series & Seperates

I'm currently thinking of purchasing separates to go along with my Polk, LSi15, LSi9, LSiC, LSiFX, and SVS PB2+. The problem that I'm having is in deciding which brand to go for. In the city that I live in no one stocks separates just receivers(small city). I could drive to a bigger city which would take me about 6 hours. I have no problem in doing this, but would like someone's advise on which models that I should audition. I was thinking of B&K, Rotel and Intrega. The Polk speakers are all 4 ohms. Do you think that the above mentioned would work well with my speakers? Thanks for any comments.

I'm not a separates dude but guys are going to need a budget and whether or not you'd be interested in gently used gear.
One other brand to consider that I've heard good things about is Outlaw. Good bang for the buck from what I understand.

Thanks to all for the warm welcome. I'm planning on spending about 5000.00 for both amp & processor. My main concern is purchasing the right equipment to mate to my LSi's. I'm looking for a warm and clean sound. Hopfully I can find something like this in my price range.

In addition to the ones you listed, you may want to consider Parasound Halo, Sunfire and McIntosh, used of course as a way of getting more for less. You can usually find a good selection on Audiogon.

Check out outlaw audio.

I am running my LSi's with an outlaw 755 amp. I love the sound and they have a great return policy. If 5k is the budget you can do a lot.

The outlaw 770 amp and outlaw 950 pre will cost about 2600 with overnight shipping. The 770 amp is 300 watts per channel at 4 ohms, and 7 channels.

The 770 alone is 1900 shipped. With this you could look at a NAD pre, or adcom, so check those out. I love me outlaw and will be upgrading my pre to the outlaw 950 when I get the chance.

The outlaws have a pretty good group of members that you can find in the forum over there. They are pretty good at answering all your questions.

I vote for your original suggestion of B&K. B&K will have the warmest sound out of Rotel and Outlaw. Check out the Ref 50 and the AV125.7 with some nice interconnects for the budget you have. I have owned Rotel with LSi and switched to B&K due to a more neutral sounding upper midrange (less forward). Personal preference here as there is nothing wrong with the Rotel sound either. I haven't heard Outlaw personally, but have read about owners who have owned Outlaw and Rotel and Outlaw is a little more forward sounding than Rotel. Forward sounding isn't necessarily a bad thing with the LSi either as they are quite flat sounding. I know tough to choose here as all three will work depending on what tone you are after.

I wouldn't even consider Integra; not for a four ohm load (unless they have new products out that I'm not aware of).

I'm agree with those who recommend you Outlaw. Also look at NAD T163 processor and NAD T973 7-ch AMP. Great value for the money. Both NAD and Outlaw are awesome.

For a budget of around $3000 you should look at the new Sherwood Newcastle P-965 Preamp/Processor and the A-965 7 channel amp for your LSi speakers.

I just replaced an Outlaw 950 and Adcom amps with the Sherwood Newcastle components and found them to be much better that the Outlaw/Adcom. They are so clear and clean you can hear grass grow with the LSi speakers.
