    I’ve used my 205 as a preamp on and off.

    It worked great for me. My father has also used his on and off. Also with great results.

    The only reason my father put a preamp back in his office system was because he wanted to spin vinyl and also wanted to try tubes.

    Like anything, it will depend on your system and ears. I say try it!

    Sorry I can't visualize sll this stuff. Dedicated 2 channel snd a dedicated HT in my main room. Trying to assemble something decent with leftovers in the bedroom.

    Of course that's not helpful. I am starting With an Aries mini a Yamaha AVR to feed my baby Ushers. I will use one of my amps for the front end.

    I have the P5 with my LSiM's for now. I guess the P5 needs to go to the new bedroom configuration? ??

    I liked my system better when I pulled my P5 and just used the Oppo 205...

    Running a BDP-105 into Parasound HCA-1500A since around 2014 for 2.1 theater setup. Connected with MIT Shotgun S1 IC's/S3 cables to 3.1tl SDA's and Bluejeans/Belden balanced IC to an Epik sub. Sounds very nice and preferred over Sunfire TGIII and Adcom pre's.
