Time for a new player. Been rotating dinosaurs for years
Looking at NAD C538, 546EE or the C568. All had good reviews and 3 yr warranty.
Also saw the Music Hall C DAC15.3. CD Player & DAC combo. 2 Reviews and 1 year.
Prefers CD only for now, maybe later the DAC thing.
Using Parasound amp, pre, tuner. Wharfedale towers, AQ cables.
Info/thoughts appreciated.

Hello, Oldrocker. I don't see Marantz as one of your choices. They are generally regarded as very good players and although I may have the TOTL model, they do use "trickle down" technology in the other lines. The ones that have passed through many a member here, all seem to get nice praise, FWIW.
Just throwing it out there for your consideration. If you are not interested, please carry on and thanks for reading.

@oldrocker,
I have two Cambridge Audio Azur 840C CD players that I have been very happy with for several years. You can find them reasonably priced on Audiogon from time to time. There is one listed for $575.00 now, but without the remote.
You might want to look at one of these.
Sorry, I missed that you are looking for a NEW player.Family Room, Innuos Statement streamer (Roon Core) with Morrow Audio USB cable to McIntosh MC 2700 pre with DC2 Digital Audio Module; AQ Sky XLRs to CAT 600.2 dualmono amp, Morrow Elite Speaker Cables to NOLA Baby Grand Reference Gold 3 speakers. Power source for all components: Silver Circle Audio Pure Power One with dedicated 20 amp circuit to main panel.
Exercise Room, Innuos Streamer via Cat 6 cable connection to PS Audio PerfectWave MkII DAC w/Bridge II, AQ King Cobra RCAs to Perreaux PMF3150 amp (fully restored and upgraded by Jeffrey Jackson, Precision Audio Labs), Supra Rondo 4x2.5 Speaker Cables to SDA 1Cs (Vr3 Mods Xovers and other mods.), Dreadnaught with Supra Rondo 4x2.5 interconnect cables by Vr3 Mods. Power for each component from dedicated 20 amp circuit to main panel, except Innuos Statement powered from Silver Circle Audio Pure Power One. -
All good options.
Be reviewing Cambridge, Marantz and Yamaha today.
Do prefer new, with remote, good visible display, prefer single but can do multi disc.
All mine are quite a old. They still function but I'm sure something new will sound better.
Not to sure on the DAC thing at this point, just need to get my read on
THANKS for the info all.. -

I picked up a one day flash sale today on a Marantz CD6006 for $150 off.
This is the one I have wanted for a while but like the rest of us have been waiting for a deal.
Good luck with your search.

No biggie for me, just read somewhere the 5005 opens it not the 6006.
While I'm asking, you happy with the display brightness? -

So I checked, and the included remote is kinda a universal one, that will also control a marantz amp or network player. No drawer open function!
But it does have display brightness control. I had it on medium, and turned it up to full, and looks great! You can also turn the display off.Basement: Polk SDA SRS 1.2tl's, Cary SLP-05 Pre with ultimate upgrade,McIntosh MCD301 CD/SACD player, Northstar Designs Excelsio DAC, Cambridge 851N streamer, McIntosh MC300 Amp, Silnote Morpheus Ref2, Series2 Digital Cables, Silnote Morpheus Ref2 Series2 XLR's, Furman 15PFi Power Conditioner, Pangea Power Cables, MIT Shotgun S3 IC's, MIT Shotgun S1 Bi-Wire speaker cables

I've purchased from this guy. Refurbs came in minty fresh. Had an issue with one item, exchanged it and provided return ship. IIRC he is an authorized Marantz refurb facility.

Tks for the info.
Ordered mine from AA, should be here sometime today.
-
Come on Fedex, need some toys to play with....
-
Congrats on the new piece! Of audio gear.
-
Only played a few songs, MUCH more detail of sounds than the old players I was using.
Slight concern is how tight the power cord fits into the unit, not quite as snug as the Parasound gear. Power cord upgrade next.
Display on highest setting still not enough for these tired eyes.
Look of player works, remote has to many bells and whistles for my needs.
Buttons look like one's that would illuminate, they don't.
Let it run for a few hours. -
Pushing it a bit.
No issues yet. -
Do consider an aftermarket power cord for that player. My Marantz CD6004 responded well to a Shunyata Venom 14 cord. It noticeably improved the stereo imaging.
