Retirement can do that. But I still have some high-tech curiosity. :)

Guy with a cat in his avatar testing data analytics with "dog".

    I am appalled.

Lest I seem overly snide :# -- as an experimental scientist, I am intrigued both by the 'problem statement' or hypothesis (i.e., "Mention of 'dog' in a thread title draws canine-content-focused spam/spammers") and the experimental means to test the hypothesis. Indeed, I applaud @BlueFox for his efforts!

Here's a thought. To keep some anchor to the core topic of these forums, why not combine the canine and the audio aspects of the test and throw some shade on the dog?

We could test specificity with a post in the Clubhouse bearing subtly different variations on a theme or word as a title.

    E.g.,

    Rabbit, Rabbi, Rabbet

Which, perhaps, might draw some Welsh rarebit spam?

Yes -- I, too, am retired... how can you tell?

There was the case of the dyslexic agnostic insomniac who would lie awake at night wondering if there really was a dog....

Just an example of the plethora of English/Scottish/Welsh/Irish jokes I grew up with. I once shared an office with three Scotsmen (before open plan - just me and the three Jocks in a room), and was the butt of Sassenach jokes every day.

The original dog spammer has been banned. Maybe they will try another login name, and provide more dog spam.
