Recently, I got a thicker mattress -- 10 Inch Inner Spring for my Futon....
I keep my futon in the couch position most of the time.....
and I noticed that the highs, and bass sound ALOT more controlled now.....
pretty cool.

Have you tried taking the new mattress, inverting it and stacking it on top of your old one?
You get great blending effects, the best of both sleeps!:D
I just couldn't resist, Sid.
Enjoy your new reststop,

This is probably due to the fact that you have raised your ear level by sitting on a thicker mattress.-izafar

Now just go and get another futon and put it in the room and imagine what that could do for ya. Good lord.......a mattress improving the sound of the speaker?
I've had my speaker setup in probably 5 different places, and I haven't ever disliked the sound. The only problem I had in one place was wood floors where it was too echoey, but past that, my speakers kick **** wherever I put them......comment comment comment comment. bitchy. -
Well in my small room, it does make alot of difference.
Since I sit in one corner, and the stereo in the other corner...
this rounded it off nicely, especially since I am indeed sitting higher ---
But what makes the bass seem tighter, is the fact it dosnt shake me terribly like it use to.
I also have two thick covers sitting on top of the top part of the mattress (in couch form) --- which also helps.
I dunno, totally different sound, less sibilance, smoother.
Makes me want to try the RTi70 out again without the RT5...

I think if Sid added new light bulbs his system would sound better too!;)
Every time I turn around his system just gets better and better. -

ya'll be nice!:D
My friend used to laugh at me when I told him my system sounded better with the grilles off the front speakers, said it was all in my head........until I did a blind test right in front of him and proved otherwise...
But I'll say the same thing here that I told him...Hell, even is it was all in my head, who cares...as long as I'm happy what does it matter... -

I wish everyone would remember this when talking about audio.
btw I agree with the grills being off. However I can't stand the look of the new Rti's with the grills off.
Happy Friday!!

The pics??Vinyl, the final frontier...
Avantgarde horns, 300b tubes, thats the kinda crap I want... -
i cant tell a difference with my grills on or off..
however I can tell a noticeable difference with the new mattress, which is probally because I am now ear level with the tweeter.

lets just say...
I AM FRIGGIN SICK OF THE RT LINE OF SPEAKERS
I am about sell it all away from going strictly 2 channel with better speakers...
lol
The RT35i is the only pair of speakers I hope I never have to sell, since they were my first....
However, I do plan to keep my rig and do the following or something similar...
Get a pair of SDAs...bigger amps
Use the SDA for mains, RT35i(pair) for center, and the RTi70 for surrounds...and the RT5 for 2 channel in another room.
That is a system I would want.
The RT5 is simply an awesome lil bookshelf. Hands down...- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit. -
i had my sda hooked to my home theater, but it didnt sound right compared to my rta-12's in the same position. probably has to do with the whole SDA effect, i guess i dont like it for home theater application, but for 2 channel?, oh yes, thats where my SDA's sound at home.
