i have a psw505 subwoofer. What do you guys recommend i keep my phase switch at, 0 or 180. Also i keep my volume and low freq. knob on halfway (1 o'clock position).

    Try both settings with the phase switch. Have someone else toggle the switch while you listen to music and pick the one that blends best with the main speakers.

    If you are using the receivers bass management, set the crossover at the highest setting.

    If you want to set the gain dial (volume) to the proper level, get a radio shack SPL meter and a Sound and Vision HT setup disc.

    The sound if excellent. It sounds sort of like a bandpassed enclosure. I am mating them with my rti12 fronts and it sounds awesome. I have my sub running halfway and it is not too much base, just enough. I can't see why anyone would want anymore bass than what this thing can produce, unless you have an extremely, oversized room.

    The reason why people want 'more' bass isnt nessicarily volume, its more about extention.......

    When you feel 15-25hz......your ideas about bass seem to change greatly....

    For me:

    0 phase
    12 o'clock sub volume
    Receiver sub out +2
