About 2 years ago I bought a Polk RM6000 HTIB system from Fry's. Well, it was only about 2 or 3 months later that I started upgrading and since then they've been in the closet collecting dust. The system still sounds great, I just have no use for it now.

I want a decent entry level subwoofer (live in an apartment -- No SVS yet...). Make me an offer (I really how no idea how much this is worth??) or a subwoofer you would like trade for the system.

Price tag from Fry's shows $499.99 but I think I paid around $400 for it. Thanks for looking!!!

Oh yeah, I'm in Austin, TX so a local sale/trade would save on shipping.

c'mon... no takers? I really don't want to deal with ebay (actually never sold anything on ebay, just bought).

any advice on a starting bid if i have to ebay it? or other options on how to use this system to help fund a new sub?

yes, i could and i actually tried that but at least to my ears it sounded better without it.

    current setup:
    Front Mains: RTi70's
    Front Center: CSi40
    Surrounds: FXi30's
    Rear Center: CSi30

Maybe I'm crazy or just didn't have it hooked up right but putting in the sub from the RM6000 just didn't sound right. I'm hoping that a slightly better sub will match better with my current system.

Oh well, I think ebay is having free listing starting tomorrow for first time sellers so I guess I'll just ebay since it gathered absolutely zero interest here.

It would make for a cool bedroom set. I have one set up for the kids A/V. It don't do too shabby..

actually I have even bigger plans for the bedroom HT setup. I already have a pair of R20's that I'm using as fronts right now, and eventually I want to pick up a used Csi30 and maybe some Rti28 or 38's and move the 20's to the back.

just wanted to see about the possibility of using the RM6000 to help fund a decent entry level sub for my main system but i guess i'll have to find something else to do with it.

I know I am a little late here, but a friend of mine let me know today he wants to get into home theater. This would be a great starting place for him, do you still have the speakers?
    Thanks. Mike

Yes I still have them, and definitely interested in selling them.

Looks like a new set was sold on Ebay for $229 a few days ago.

How about $150 plus shipping? My ZIP is 78749, and would be shipped in the original box unless you specifically want me to double box (I don't know how much shipping supplies would cost off the top of my head). I *think* I have the manual but let me check when I get home tonight.

    Hey Phantom
I am definitely sure we can work something out. How much do you figure the box weighs? I am sure the original box would be fine, it will probably not matter much to him. Manual would be a plus, but definitely not necessary. Let me know. Thanks!

I used the entry level PSW202 for quite some time in my HT, and I liked that lil' motherless ****. It never did anything amazing like break a mirror, or cause me to trip but it made movies enjoyable.

I added some nice big spikes and a couple pieces of granite, all of which cost more than the stupid subwoofer, but it looked good :D

I think that that the RM series is miles above the Bose, that alone should warrant a use somewhere, somehow by someone.

Get it Mike :) Here is the manual if OG doesn't have it handy.

    RM6000 User's Manual
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

I found the original manual and even the warranty card but unfortunately I can't seem to locate my receipt. I did register this online when I bought it, I don't know if that is transferrable or anything though.

According to this page the shipping weight is 38 lbs.

    I'll email you.

Nah, it's not for me, but it would actually make a cool little bedroom surround setup.
I have 2 rt2000i's, 2 cs400i's, and 2 f/x500i's and a psw450 for my surround setup, I am quite content with it. The only thing I may want to change at some point is the 450, but I am not too concerned cause I have a few cool 2ch. rigs too.

My little brother ended up with a psw250 (one of the free subs form CC one time)for his little surround setup and it does get the job done, he likes it a lot.
This will be for a 'non audio-inclined' friend, so I am sure he will be thrilled. This will be his first surround sound setup.

I'll look forward to that email, and I'll have a talk with him once I get it. I think you can pretty much cross this off your list as sold.
    Thanks!

Package sent this morning. I would have sent it yesterday but it was *pouring* rain all day yesterday and didn't want the box to get soaked.

I PM'ed the tracking number to you and will email it to you again when I get home from work.

Thanks again for helping me sell this system!

    Thanks Brian, works for me.

Things went very well with Phantom for this transaction, I would not hesitate to deal with him again. Super fast emails, and he always kept me up to date. Haven't received the speakers yet, but if the transaction so far has showed me anything, they will be awesome. thanks again. Mike
