I JUST REPLACED MY OUTDATED SPEAKERS WIYH THE RM-7600 POLK SYSTEM AND THE FREE PSW-202 SUB. I ALREADY HAD A SUBWOOFER, A RADIOSHACK 120WATT 10 INCH AND IT WAS SUGGESTED I CONNECT BOTH USING MONSTER CABLES AND 3 Y-SLITTERS. RIGHT NOW THE BASE SOUNDS BOOMY AND NOT VERY TIGHT AND THE MIDRANGE SEEMS TO BE COMING UP SHORT. THEY DO NOT SOUND AS GOOD AS THEY DID IN THE STORE. THE SYSTEM IS IN THE BASEMENT WITH THE SUBS SITTING ON THE FLOOR AT ABOOUT 12 INCHES FROM WALL ANGLED OUT AND ONE AT EACH END OF THE 65 MITSI-TV. ALL 4 SATTELITES ARE WALL MOUNTED EQUAL DISTANT FRM EACH OTHER. ANYBODY HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS. SPEAKER WIRE IS MONSTER XP.MUSIC MODE 6 CHANNEL STEREO.

    Welcome to Club Polk,

Turn off the caplocks in future messages. If the bass is boomy try moving the subs away from corners or walls, sometimes this helps. Also, try using just one sub and you might like Dolby Prologic II better than 6 stereo.

I think I figured out the problem and am responding back to my original post for the benifit of others.
I failed to consider my source material in my observation. I was listening to a CDVD of Stevie Ray Vuaghn that had been remastered and remixed not the studio original.
Last night I listened to a different CDVD Peter Gabrials Secret World, man what a difference!! The bass was tight and my midrange was fantastic and separation has returned . The Pro Logic 2 was an interesting suggestion and is a very good alternative to the 6 channel mode. Thank You for the suggestion.

Trying stacking the subs on top of each other in the same corner. You should see an improvement, just try it.
