ATT cell service is erratic.

Last night, Sunday, I noticed I had three messages on my cell phone. One was from last Tuesday, and two were from last Wednesday. This is not the first time that ATT has delayed notifying me of a cell message. I’m not really sure what the issue is, but it really is irritating when it occurs. The cell is on all the time, so it isn’t like I turn it on and the messages show up.

I have no doubt their services have been impacted by the fires. Even if they haven’t lost a cell site, the power surely has been cut off to many of them. A message will stay in the system until it is delivered, and that will take place once power is restored to the cell.

Perhaps an overload of people using their phones due to the situation and or perhaps the fires have taken out some towers/repeaters...

Good point about the fire. It didn’t occur to me since it has happened multiple times over the years.

I've had the same problem with US Cellular. I went in and was told they are taking out some towers because they are switching over to 5G. My reception is bad, don't get texts or VM's, can't send texts, in various places. I asked them why I'm paying full rates for half-azzed service, they said to call customer service. Sssssss. First they said it would be until fall, but now they say it'll be spring. There was something they did that made it better for awhile but now its back to crummy reception.

Last week we had intermittent issues with AT&T.

Turns out it was a tower near work that went down. Major lag in voice calls, as I would answer, and then about 5 seconds before I could hear the other person.

All is back in order this week.

All cell phone service is erratic at one time or another.
If you can't hear a difference, don't waste your money.
