Hello There Everyone i am new to this fourm i guess its because i just got my RTi8's
Anyhow here is the Setup Right Now:
. 2/RTi8
. Yamaha HTR-5790S/7.1 Channel This Receiver
http://www.yamaha.ca/av/Receivers/HTR_5790S.asp
Now I need Advise on this I was thinking to Exchange this Receiver For Harman Kardon AVR 430 ..
http://www.harmankardon.com/specifications.asp?cat=REC&ser=&prod=AVR%20430&sType=C
Alot of people tell me that the Harman Kardon Is a Ture Watts Per Channel .. But the Yamaha has 100wx100w per channel vs the HarmanKardon 65 Watts per channel In term of Price ..
Checked it out the Yamaha go's for around $500 CAN Vs the $1000USD for the HarmanKardon ..
Help Me Make the Right Choose here we all know you buy this kinda stuff one's ..
Thank You All ..

HK has a more honest approach to power representation than the Yamaha, period. That is why the power ratings differ, in that they evaluate power in a different way.
HK carries a high current chassis, which will make it a more capable AVR, bottom line.
Is it better? That's subjective. I think the HK is a better performer, but that depends on wether you are unhappy with your current gear....in that case, tell them that your gear is good to go.
If your current gear is handling your application, then don't be so pressed to change everything based on a couple statements.
Stick w/ the Yamaha for now, as you need to define your needs before you spend more money.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint. -
Thanks You For the Replys
Here is some more Information
I Just got the Yamaha HTR-5790S it sounds okay i'll but for $200 More i can get the Harman Kardon AVR 430 and for the long run will this be a better choose ..
Thank you again for the Replys -
I would stick with the Yamaha. The AVR430 has a fan, that's a source of noise. It may have higher "7 channel" driven simultaneously power, but the Yamaha should have higher 1, 2 channel power rating. I think HK invests more (relatively) on power supplies, to make sure their "all channel" driven ratings are honest numbers, while others such as Yamaha, Denon, and Sony invest (again relatively speaking only) more on the amplifiers, to make sure they can quote higher power ratings, but not for "all channel driven simultaneously". I think in most cases, it is more important to have higher 1 & 2 channel ratings because it is rare to have source materials that demand all channels to be driven hard at the same time.
Some people claim that HK sounds warm, Yamaha sounds bright. Well, my Sony is supposed to be "bright" too according to those people. I listened to many HK models, including the 225, 525, 430 and 630, I never found them any warmer than my DA4ES. And yes, I listened to them driving Polk speaker, just like mine. So I suggest you listen to both carefully, before making you final decision. Another thing, if you are in Canada, you will pay unreasonably high price for HK models.
