Looky what followed me home yesterday :)

from the dump in our daughter & son-in-law's little town.
Works fine other than a couple of dirty controls that need cleaning.
Yeah, yeah, I know...utterly obsolete... but hard to pass up for the bargain price of -- umm, well -- not any [price]. :|
I'm like that -- y'all know that. :p

Just a quick grab photo avec flash -- it really doesn't look that bad and I haven't cleaned it up. I am too freaking lazy to clean something before I know it works, unless it is horrifically filthy -- and this unit wasn't. I did, in full disclosure, wipe the dust off the top.

now, why doesn't that surprise me?

    :)

I am listening to it now -- I've actually got some more interesting amplification to be evaluating, but I am kinda stuck listening to this monstrosity ( and a monstrosity it is: all 41 lbs of it -- I looked it up!). I am, unfortunately, still a sucka for Yamaha.

    OPTs are below decks.
    They've got panache.
    And heft.

I smoke tested them tonight. They power up just fine, but they're not passing a signal, so I am gonna have to do some sleuthing.

    Not tonight though.

    There you go, then.

    That was my belief/understanding.

A few pieces here are shelf queens, but most work fine and get dragged out and used now and again.

It is "on approval" at the moment.
I did expect it to work, or at least not to not work the way it does. Or is it doesn't?
