Nice weather in Northern California

I have been trying to break even with electricity this summer, so I have only used the AC twice. It is an old (1980s) rooftop central system, and my solar system can’t keep up when it runs, so I had to pay something to PG&E every year. This year will be much better, but for the summer listening to the stereo has been brutal. I close all the windows so as not to bother the neighbors, but it get hotter than Hades inside from the amps. I have two fans, one cools the amps, and the other cools me. Anyway, tonight the fans are quiet, the stereo is rocking, and the temperature is only in the high 70s. Heaven.

I will be glad when summer is over. :)

Sounds like your girly parts are a tad inflamed, Bud.

Was just there last week bro, love that place. Been there many times and I call it Pleasantville. Everyone is nice, well behaved and the beach is one of the best in the state. Wish I knew you lived there, we could have hooked up for dinner or somethin', next time bro.

    Oh I know this one...

It consists of eight planets and their moons in orbit around the sun, together with smaller bodies in the form of asteroids, meteoroids, and comets!

We haven't used our AC once in SoCal, cost to darn much. last weekend was the first one where I almost flipped it on.
When I was a kid my parents told me to turn it down. Now I'm an adult and my kids tell me to turn it down.

Same here. It was intense last Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. But I suffered through it.

In fact, I had to postpone my monthly poker game from last Friday to this Friday because of the heat.

This is why I love Carmel, year round the weather doesn't change much. Add to that, it's one of the best dog friendly cities you'll find. You can off leash your dogs on the beach too.

It's a sight to behold many of us are not used to seeing.....peace and harmony. People behave in responsible manners, Carmel demands it. You'll see packs of dogs on the beach, all strangers to one another, just running and playing in the water/sand. No dog fights, nobody is getting bitten for petting strange dogs. Something is left on the beach like flip flops, towels, etc., it gets put on a wall so the next day you pick up what you forgot. Nobody steals it....try doing that in NY-Chicago-Miami-L.A.

Then you have the food....prepared with the freshest available from an area that grows most the produce for the whole country. I love Clint's place at the Mission Ranch, and the Highlands down the road. Cool little grocery store in town, usually BBQ-ing something outside. Lots of shops, artistic shops, little parks.

The people are friendly, but have low tolerance for the rift-raff. Most these people are multi-millionaires, but you'd never know it by talking to them. No beeping horns, loud rap music thumping away in cars, everyone is courteous, pleasant, you won't find a mean bone in anyone there. Hard for me to visit the state and not go to Carmel. My wife and I have been to many cities across the country, big and small, and we keep coming back to Carmel because it's the one place that peace and harmony exists that we all think in our minds that it should in our own cities....but doesn't.

A hop and a skip to the north is Pebble Beach and Monterey, to the south is Big Sur. Take a few days and explore this area next time any of you are in California.

They just posted both of these pics recently (the first was a "throwback" from years ago) and when I read your comment and the mention of dogs on the beach, plus BOTH locations, it fit perfectly. :p
