mono receiver output to stereo subwoofer input

my receiver has an mono subwoofer out. should i connect to a single to double Y rca jacks to plug into both channels? and if so would i still have phase adjustment?

    Please keep questions to a single thread... Otherwise it gets confusing.

    As for phase adjustment, that happens after the low pass filter, so there is no difference regardless of how you connect, that part of the circuit is unaffected.
