Anybody out there have a spare MW6509? My children helped me blow one tonight... 😢. Bad scratchy in the VC now when it’s powered and when it’s disconnected and mounted passive.

I would prefer to have an original Polk driver instead of the replacement drivers, the cones just don’t have that sexy shiny look. Hoping someone has one stashed away somewhere...

    Strange the only difference I've noticed on new production is that the voice coil leads are not visible like the older style as the dustcap covers them but both were shiney doped paper. Someone had just PM'd me the other day asking if I wanted to buy some. I stated he had the wrong member and erased his name... dang me :'(

    I bought a replacement last summer and it was more of a matte look on the cone. Call me picky but I prefer obsessive-compulsive...

    interesting for sure I do not blame you .. that is not what any of the replacements I've seen ever looked like. that is very weird

    Yeah, I'd be looking for an original myself. Eventhough I usually keep the grills on, I'd still know that one of the drivers didn't match and it would drive me crazy.

    SDA SRS2 (1st gen) & SDA 1B are the ones I’ve had that used 6509's. I think those are the only ones.

    How does it sound? I think accepting its appearance is a lot easier if it sounds great.

    The replacement sounds great in that pair (they belong to a friend). I'm just hoping to keep mine 100% original drivers. Someday I will drop in 194's but I’d like to keep the MW's original if possible.
