Sure they might be. I lived in Charleston SC in early 70's & we had crawdads in ditches & standing water areas. Back then I didnt know anyone ate those mini lobsters...

lol there both the same down here some say, CrawDads cause dem be da Bigger ones. The tail meat is what you eat. smaller one’s like the size of you little finger I my self don’t like to small so when you see Crawfish the bigger ones they be the Crawdads! Mostly after they full up of eating, had to many beers they be sitting around going Man dem Crawdads meaning the bigger one sure we’re tasty. 😁

We use to have shrimp trucks parked on Rt 1 in Maine you could buy shrimp for 1.20 a pound. My 1st exwifes mother would buy 100lbs for the year & she would par boil them & put in a salt brine & freeze. Now all the shrimp fishing here is done. Finished. Notta. I miss the good ole days. RIP Claude Alexander Rt 1 Woolwich Me who sold shrimp to everyone for many years. Giant great man who was funnyGood stuff. I like doing a shrimp boil.
