    Well honestly.....

I can't 'feel' any pain - its just that my entire left jaw is swollen pretty good....

and the medicine I have to put on it.......I'm not sure if it 'helped' me or made it worse....

    Dunno......

Rinse with 1/2 water and 1/2 hydrogen peroxide every 4 hours or so. Take over the counter Ibuprofen and call your dentist or primary care physician either today (most have an on call emergency number) or tommorow morning and decribe your symptoms. If your swelling continues and you can't reach anyone go to the ER.

Sorry you're having a hard time of it. It seems I made out easy. All 4 of mine were impacted, I just had them all removed at 20 to save myself the pain of having them pulled one by one when they would've gotten infected and would have to be taken out anyway.

All four of mine were yanked out at one time a few years ago. My dentist said I didn't need them anyway, but I wasn't foolish enough to believe her.

Luckily, my DNA evolved and I only had 2 wisdom teeth (uppers). Had 'em pulled quite a few years back.

    Enjoy!

I rinsed my mouth out, swished out - etc with Salt Water.....

and I looked up what to do on the internet, and they said to brush the best you could in the area.

    Best they described was this.....

The flap above the tooth becomes inflamed (mine hasnt), as decay get down between the tooth ---

My tooth, is ramming against my other tooth, basically......

I am using Orajel which has pretty much lessened the swelling down to my jaw area, which dosnt really hurt.....it just feels big....

I am calling the Dentist tommorow, and hopefully I can go alot sooner than Thursday to get this taken care of or looked at.

Here is what I think is wrong ---
The tooth is coming in where my mouth connects'' I guess you could call it that, to my jaw. The tooth 'erupted' right where the mouth and gum meet.

    I dunno, not very fun........

It's sounds like pericoronitis. It happens when there is a flap of tissue partially covering your tooth that becomes traumatized when you bite it during normal chewing, talking, etc.. Swelling, elevated temperature and a feeling of "hardness" in the affected area are possible signs of an infection. Hydrogen peroxide rinse will help to cleanse the area until you get proper treatment. Good luck and definitely get seen by someone tommorow!

    Thank you for the advice.

I rinsed my mouth out with salt water, then some very strong mouth wash that burned like crazy!!!!!!!

I brushed the area as well as I could, I took some Ibuprofen --

The swelling has gone down ALOT considering where it was at a day ago. Much more contained......

and not to mention my dental higene probally went up 50 points. lol

Im calling the dentist tommorow, hopefully they will tell me what to do....

    Thanks for all the help

Ouch! Do you brush up against the gums or from the gums down? Underneath the gum line your teeth are extremely sensitive and when you brush up against the gums, it lifts it up slightly over time so the sensitive part of your teeth will be exposed. Also, when brushing against the gum (starting from teeth) you get a lot of junk between your gums and teeth which could cause an infection. It could be gum disease. Don't think wisdom teeth can make your face swell. I know someone who had gum disease and his cheeks swelled up. I was actually close to getting gum disease because of my brushing techniques so the dentist told me not to brush against the gums and gave me Sensodine toothpaste because one tooth got pretty sensitive due to the exposed part of my tooth. It's now my favorite toothpaste:).

A tip would be to use mouth wash after brushing to destroy any leftover bacteria the toothbrush missed and not skimp on regular check ups. Just thought I'd share my dentist's brushing technique with you:).

I'm with the rest of the huge heads here, all 4 still in my mouth. Maybe we should start our own forum. I can see it now: http://clubpolk.polkaudio.com/forum/homohabilis

Anyway people with all their wisdom teeth are special, my mom told me so.

    Good luck Sid

Had three of mine yanked out as an adult, YOUCH!! Painful, each and every one. One still remains because its roots are lodged in my sinus cavity!
My daughter had hers cut out last year, at the age of 12, because if they came in they would have caused her to have to wear braces. The surgery was much less expensive than braces! She was a real trooper about the whole thing! Even though it hurt, she could realize the benefit. She has pretty, straight teeth now! And I'm out less $$!:D

    Hi:

I'm 61 and still have three of mine, that's why i'm so smart. :D I had to have one removed a few years back because it was crooked, not bad.
