My Fathers Day Gift

Hello,

On Father's Day the wife daughter and I went to a 2pm dinner. During dinner my daughter started texting and calling her fiancee. I got the hint something was up when she said he needed to go jump start my son's car. I said we're almost done I'll go do it, she said "no don't go". Then the two women ganged up on me clearly stalling me. After they dragged me through an hour of stalling we went home. My 19 year old son was in the garage with this.

A nice 75" 4k Samsung 7 series TV. My son bought it on his own. Everyone in the family and I are still in shock. My son doesn't buy anybody anything, He even dumps his girlfriends at Thanksgiving to save on a Christmas gift.

The kid works hard. He started as a cook in high school at L&L Hawaiian BBQ, He worked his tail off now at 19 he is a store manager.

Now I can't kick him out for a few more months.

When I was a kid my parents told me to turn it down. Now I'm an adult and my kids tell me to turn it down.

Wow!! Congrats really nice of your son. But good on you and the mrs for teaching him to save. The fact that he is conservative with his cash and he bent the rules for you says quite a bit.

Noice! Watching football is gonna be sweet!
Oh, Listen here mister. We got no way of understandin' this world. But we got as much sense of this bird flyin in the sky. Now there is a lot that bird don't know, but it don't change the fact that the world is happening to him all the same. What I am tryin to say is, is that the course of your life, well its changing, and you don't even see it- Forest Bondurant

    can't wait....just two months

We watched Captain Marvell last night, very nice. My wife said we now have the picture quality to go with the audio.

I'm starting to use ARC. kind of cool don't have to turn on the BD player to stream Netflix or Amazon. Just turn on the TV then the AVR, one less link to mess with.

The 75" replaced a 6 year old 1080p Samsung 60" which is now in the living room. Kids watch Netflix and play their games on. The 43" Vizio went from the living room to my bedroom, replacing a 15 year old Sony 42" rear projection set.
When I was a kid my parents told me to turn it down. Now I'm an adult and my kids tell me to turn it down.

My youngest daughter had a belated FD dinner for me yesterday. I showed her the picture of the TV your son gave you for FD, and explained to her that obviously, he is a devoted child and wanted dearly to show his father, who worked so hard to provide for him during his formative years, and gave up so much of himself and his own desires to make his son's life happier, etc. etc.

Yeah, that ain't gonna work on her.

More like a "dad don't kick me out for a year or two". TV is a lot cheaper than SoCal rent.
