My Current set-up is:
front: RT 7
center: CS 250
Surround: M 5
Subwoofer: PSW 300
ROOM SIZE: 8ft x 9 1/2 feet.
Problem: I want to have small speakers for my small room, would the RT 25i blend well with the rest of my setup specially my CS 250? Is the NEW tweeter of the RT 25i same as my current speakers?
I will religate my RT& as my second room speaker.

Thanks,

I think the 25i's would be a fine match. Timbre-wise, they should sound pretty much like the RT7's.

I'm sure you're already aware of it, but those RT7's are really nice speakers. Hope you have a good use for them in a second system!

    Good luck!

    Rak-Rak,
I have a pair of RT-7's up front and RT25i's for rears. Both have the tri-laminate dome tweeter so I think you could expect a pretty comperable sound on the highs. IMO you might be better off with the 35i's seeing as the overall frequency response more closely matches that of the 7's, and they're not that much bigger than the 25i's. Plus you're getting a 6.5" woofer with the 35i instead of a 5.25" on the 25i to replace the 7.5" woofer of the 7's. BTW, a local chain advertised a "Final Closeout" sale of the RT line in todays paper, they are making room for the LSi series that they will have in at the end of March. They are selling the 25i for $99/ea and the 35i for $139/ea. I don't know if anybody is closing them out in your area but I think the $80/pr difference is money well spent. On a side note,I agree with jcaut, those 7's are one SWEET speaker.

i can second the vote to get the 35i's if you have the extra $. the step up is definitely worth, and i think you'll be happier in the long run. the jump up to the 6.5" driver in the 35i is a big difference...

Dude, if you can, stick with the RT7's

I love 'em and they are sooo sweet, but you already know that, eh?

My thing is this, without looking at the measurements, I would say that the 7's aren't much more obtrusive than the RT35i's to be honest. So, my reply is that yes either the 25's or 35's will work, I just don't know that you are gaining.......

GZ, thanks for the sale update but the Polk Audio speakers here in the Philippines are very expensive. I still love my RT& but in my small room I feel that they are too close together plus the faCT that I got allot of electronics (VCDR,VHS,Laser Disc Player, Play Station, Karaoke w/600 songs etc.) to got with my setup. I just this that if I go small the imaging might improve, please correct me if I'm wrong.
TROYD you are shure right that my RT7 make good sweet music and I found out that my Denon AVR3300 Receiver was a good company for it.

    Rak-Rak,
Just out of curiosity, how much are Polks in the Phillipines anyway, say in USA dollars?

A Pair of RT 25i cost 12,000 pesos or $235.3 or $117.65 each
    A Pair of RT 7 cost 19,000 pesos or $ 372.55 or $186.3 each
I just feel that my Rt 7 is too big for my small room. since I read some good review reg. the RT 25i I just thought that it would be nice to have it as front speaker (Small room, small speakers) and Relegate my RT 7 to my 2nd room which is bigger.

BTW have you guys ever fixed an M5, one of them have no signal from the woofer only the tweeter works. can't check if the wiring inside is ok because I cant open it.

I see what you are driving at but I still think I would stick with the RT7's....

Sounds like a bad driver in your M5. You can get a replacement from Polk. They are easy to swap out. The hardest part on the M5 is taking the damn grille off.

I'd like to check first if the wiring inside is o.k. and there arent any loose cable just like what happened to my cs250, i just tighten the connectors then it worked just fine.
how can I open my M%...no screws visible.
    Thanks
