Attempting to recreate (almost exactly) a classic guitar amp has to be an endeavor of love. Especially love the part about scouring to find the original tube compliment.

    Good article. I have a quad of 1950 GE 6L6's, maybe they're up in value now. Lol. Mullard also gets a favorable nod. I'd heard about Jimmy's Telecaster for the first album, whereas most thought he used a Les Paul, but I had no idea about his amp. Very interesting.
