Congrats Drew. Hope to see the reviews here on the forum."if it's not fun, it's not worth it & remember folks, "It's All About The Music"!!

Congrats Drew.

Wow! This is cool! One of our very own, taking a step into the world of audiophile reviews!
I can say, currently, I don't have the knack, or the vernacular, to describe in words appropriately how I experience music. Yeah sure, "it sounds great", et., al., is easy, but to articulate in words the details and attributes is amazing to me.
So I rely on others, to help me. Here on CP, and other sites.
I have learned to trust the ears of @clipdat on many occasion. He has always pointed me in the right direction.
Congrats Drew on your new venture! Good luck to you, and if others, like me, will get to know and respect your thoughts, they too will trust and rely on your comments!

Ha Dave - too funny
I agree though, some of you may know that Drew and I enjoy some similar music tastes, most of you don't know what a stand up guy Drew is outside of this forum. Honorable and empathetic. I am proud to call him a friend and am quite happy for this new opportunity.
I really respect his knack of being able to articulate audio experiences in a way that is engaging and easy to read. I look forward to reading all reviews and supporting our fellow Polkie in anyway I can.
Congrats my friend. -

Drew sure hit a Grand Slam with me as his positive vibes on Auralic coming out with something totally different from their older models and serving up the delicious Vega G2 that simply knocked me over and continues to do so every single day.
Thanks Drew for your honesty
and knowing the difference in Auralics older models to the new and much improved sound of the Vega G2 which BTW is future proof by way of firmware updates. I don't care if it can sound any better as it sounds heaven like now!!

I trust his ears too, then I do the exact opposite.
In reality however, the only ears to trust are your own.

It’s a learning process for me.
When I recently jumped back into this hobby, I didn’t know what I didn’t know. I learned quickly to rely on others to help guide me. Sure now, I have more experience, new gear, lots of gear, swapping components, finding nuances of improvement or change, some huge leaps, but without that guidance I probably would have floundered around.
I’m grateful for folks here, including Drew to help me along my journey!Basement: Polk SDA SRS 1.2tl's, Cary SLP-05 Pre with ultimate upgrade,McIntosh MCD301 CD/SACD player, Northstar Designs Excelsio DAC, Cambridge 851N streamer, McIntosh MC300 Amp, Silnote Morpheus Ref2, Series2 Digital Cables, Silnote Morpheus Ref2 Series2 XLR's, Furman 15PFi Power Conditioner, Pangea Power Cables, MIT Shotgun S3 IC's, MIT Shotgun S1 Bi-Wire speaker cables

Congrats and good luck with the new endeavor. Keeping the day job?

For the record, I swear didn't tell Joe to make a post about this!
Thanks to all who replied with words of support, I sincerely appreciate it.
This opportunity materialized after I struck up an impromptu conversation with Jack and Becky from theaudiobeatnik.com at Axpona last month. I followed up with Jack and after exchanging some emails, he extended an offer for me to write for the website!
I'm very excited, not only to be able to get my ears on more gear, but also because it's a huge learning opportunity. I've already learned a lot in just a few days time as my first article gets ready to be published. I hope to be able to visit Jack & Becky soon, as they're only about 30 minutes away from me.
Not only would it be enlightening to hear Jack's reference system, but I'm eager to advance my actual listening ability. Specifically, in terms of being able to identify the type of positive characteristics that nicer pieces can bring to a system.
Thank you again for the support! -
Congrats and good luck with the new endeavor. Keeping the day job?
Yes, I'm keeping my day job. This is just to have fun, hopefully learn a lot, and have a well respected place to share my writing.
