Electrician question

My sister just moved into a new house and the power receptacle for the dryer is 3 prong vs the 4 prong cord on her dryer. I swapped out the cable for one with 3 prongs but have a question regarding the ground. In the 4 prong cord there were 4 wires, one of which was a ground that was connected to a chassis screw. From what I've researched all I need to do is run a jumper wire from the neutral wire connection to the chassis ground connection. Well the chassis ground screw is evidently self-tapping and now the hole is stripped so I either have to drill a new hole or run the jumper to another screw anywhere on the chassis. So does it matter if the screw I run the jumper to is exposed or does it need to be covered like the old was with a metal plate that fit over all of the terminal posts. I'm assuming it doesn't matter because it's grounded to the chassis either way so touching the chassis would be the same as touching the exposed ground screw?

The 3 prong cord looks like this, not a standard 110 connector.

You'll be good with a jumper from neutral to chassis without any cover.

OK...thanks all. I thought so but didn't want to assume anything and electrocute my sister.....(although I AM her beneficiary :^ )2 channel - Willsenton R8 tube integrated, Holo Audio Spring 3 KTE DAC, audio optimized NUC7i5, Windows 10 Pro/JRiver MC29/Fidelizer Plus 8.7 w/LPS and external SSD drive, PS Audio PerfectWave P3 regenerator, KEF R3 speakers, Rythmik F12SE subwoofer, Audioquest Diamond USB cable, Gabriel Gold IC's, Morrow Audio SP5 speaker cables.
