Subjective..question..which is "better" sounding ?

Original sda1..6 driver ..or original sda 2..5 driver ?

    The 6 driver model IMHO, but SDA sounds best on the later models. They gained better insight into what they were chasing and improved tremendously with each generation. If you haven't already acquired a pair, I would look for the later SDA 1c, SDA-SRS 2.3TL or 3.1TL's...

    Yep SDA1a all day. I have a pair of SDA1 signatures and they responded very well to new caps and resistors.
    The lower 2 drivers are dedicated to bass.

    "Original" as in "has two nostrils"?

    Polk had a "kit" and instructions to convert them to 1A. The instructions are on this site somewhere, but the parts kit is long discontinued.
