OK gang, what are your opinions on which would be the "best fit" for my system. I'm thinking of switching out a pair of RT25s's in the rear.

the fx series fits best because it has the same tweeter as ur other speakers, the lsi series has a completely diffeent tweeter

Airplay,
Thanks for your reply. However, I think you're thinking of the LSi with the ring tweeter. I am talking about the older LS/fx with the tri-lam, or even a set of RT/fx's. There are a couple of pairs listed on ebay now, and I'm thinking about switching from my direct speakers to the bi/di type. I was wondering if the older line is better than the newer FX300i's (IYHO)?

I think the older surrounds will match better, but the LS f/x is a very small surround. I bought a pair off "the bay" over a year ago, and chuckled when I opened the box...
Later nailed some f/x 1000's... I wasn't chuckling any more.
If you can find them, a pair of f/x 500's would serve you better, me thinks...More later,

I used to own a pair of Ls/fx
they were good speakers no doubt, but a little quiet for my taste
I purchased the rm3000 (IMO is one of the best surround satellite speakers polk has made) from Polkatese and I definitely like them better than Ls/fx....Im not a huge di/bipole fan...more drivers somehow waters down the sound for me...especially when they are phased

Tour,
Due to space constraints, I am looking for either some RT/fx or FX300i's. I really like the 25's, but wonder if I'm "missing" something.
Has anyone made this switch? What can I expect?AVR: Yamaha RX-V661

I went from 25s to RT/FXs in the rear and liked what I heard, but not as much as I like the FXs on the sides once I upgraded to 7.1.
I now have RT-55s for rears in the corners angled toward my seating and use the RT/FXs in dipole mode for sides slightly behind my seating and love the diffuse sound that they give.
